Hill City (2008 pop. est. 440) is near beautiful Hill Lake in northern Aitkin County. It offers a progressive city council, small base of metal fabricating companies and an abundance of public land for recreational purposes. Located on U.S. Highway 169 and Minnesota Highway 200, it is well suited to businesses that depend upon trucking transportation. Tax-free JOBZ industrial sites are available.

The area also is home to a time-share community with a golf course, ski area and annual snocross racing.
