  Kettle River

The City of Kettle River (2008 pop. est. 171) is located in the southwest corner of Carlton County on State Highway 73. It is approximately 10 miles west of Interstate 35 and is less than one hour's drive from Duluth and 90 minutes form Minneapolis and St. Paul. The city's close connection I-35 facilitates convenient transportation of people and products.

Incorporated in 1921, Kettle River played a key role in the region's logging history, due to its rich forest resources ans strategic position on the Kettle River. Opportunities still exist for wood products companies in need of quality raw materials.

The Kettle River, named for its deep holes (kettles) that create turbulent rapids, is a popular destination for area whitewater rafters and kayakers.

The nearby community of Moose Lake offers an updated business district, growing medical campus and quality schools.
