Taconite production at six facilities in northeastern Minnesota in 2011 is expected to range between 38 million to 39 million dry tons. Similar annual production levels were realized 2006 through 2008. It is projected 2010 production was 34.3 million dry tons, compared to 17.1 million tons in the recession year of 2009.
