There always is something to see and do in Lake County, one of northeastern Minnesota's most naturally beautiful areas.

Home to four Minnesota State Parks (Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, Tettegouche, and George H. Crosby Manitou), Lake County is known for its spectacular scenery and well developed trails and facilities for hikers, bikers, skiers, snowmobilers, boaters, paddlers and sightseers. In addition to Lake Superior's shoreline, the county boasts portions of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the Superior National Forest.

Numerous special events entertain residents and visitors each year, including Grandma's Marathon, the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, Northshore Inline Marathon, the Two Harbors Folk Festival and St. Urho's Day in Finland.
