Buhl (2008 pop. est. 983) is famous as home of the "Finest Water in America," but water bottling is just one of several industries thriving in this Iron Range city. Located halfway between Hibbing and Virginia on U.S. Highway 169, Buhl's successful companies include manufacturers from metal casting to precision machining. A new industrial park south of U.S. 169 is being developed. The Mesabi Trail winds through Buhl offering bikers and hikers a panoramic view of the historic Grand Iron Mine. Along the trail is a rustic campground and the Stubler beach, a popular swimming beach developed through a mine land reclamation project. |
