Cook (2008 pop. est. 618) is a small, but busy, northern Minnesota city, surrounded by evergreen forests and sparkling lakes. Located near the western end of beautiful Lake Vermilion, it is a center of activity with a critical care hospital, municipal airport and public schools serving the rural vicinity and wilderness area. Cook's location on U. S. Highway 53, the main expressway between Duluth and Canada, provides excellent transportation to markets in two countries. Tourism and logging are primary industries. Cook's natural beauty and strong sense of community make it an attractive location to live and work. |
