Mountain Iron (2008 pop. est. 2,921) is located in the heart of Minnesota's Arrowhead Region on Highway 169 near Highway 53. The self-proclaimed "Taconite Capital of the World" has an active iron mining industry, growing base of manufacturers and a diversified business community.
